Who we are
We are SPELLBOUND; Peter and Karin; a husband and wife
team. I am a Sagittarian fire sign and Karin a Virgo earth sign;
signs considered incompatible by some people but by others
an interesting and creative, if sometimes, volatile combination!
Though not self-sufficient, we do grow some of
our fruit and veg. and love our flowers and though
possessing a van and a computer, feel we are
following in the footsteps of our ancestors;
preserving some of the " old ways", whilst
accepting some of the "new", and in the process,
being inevitable, drawn into an inescapable love
and reverence for Nature, Her wonders, Her
beauty and Her magic!
We are, in fact, as I suspect many of you reading this are, spellbound.
Spellbound by it all!

Welcome to our world, to your world, to the world of our ancestors, to the
world of our children. The World of The Spirit.
Oh and, by the way, we make jewellery!
What we do
Karin and I have been etching and designing in brass and copper for 25 years and for even longer, interested in and
studying the World’s Ancient Cultures i.e. Egypt, Mexico, The Celts, Neo-lithic etc. It is to these people that we look
for our inspiration and designs.
Karin researches and draws the designs which I then etch onto brass and copper sheets; cutting out and finishing the individual
pieces by hand. Karin then repossess her work to enhance and complete it with her bead and wire work.
Designs & Symbols
"Our designs are primarily based
around the beliefs and symbols of
The Ancient Cultures of The
Earth."
Symbols in themselves are just objects or marks made on other objects and as such are just pieces of wood or metal. However when used as a focus
point for concentrating one’s mind , energies or resolve they can have a very real influence.

Again they can convey our feelings or wishes when presented to someone else as in a "get well" card or a key-ring for "safe travel" for instance.
All symbols are dynamic, not static and open to evolution and
change to conform where appropriate to their environment and time.

Thus Karin’s drawings are sometimes copied faithfully from ancient
sources, but sometimes modified or re-interpreted as the occasion
demands.

The meaning of individual signs or symbols is therefore often a
matter of debate, preference or need, and open to different
interpretations.
WHAT ARE SYMBOLS?
Symbols are objects, concepts or representations of the same which convey meaning.

By wearing or displaying a symbol we associate ourselves with that meaning and make others aware of that
meaning and association.

Symbols in short are a reminder of what we believe in, what is important to us or what we hold dear.
DO SYMBOLS POSSESS POWER?
CONFLICTING MEANINGS OF SYMBOLS
We at Spellbound neither favour one particular belief nor guarantee the authenticity or
"effectiveness" of any of our designs, but rather believe that all genuinely held believes emanate from
The One Source of Divinity which encompasses us all and that any benefit gained from a symbol is
dependent on the sincerity and belief of the "user".
The key phrase being "………if it works for you…….".
